Shopping Tips When Choosing A Perfume

Girl Sniffing Perfume

Choosing the most appropriate perfume for you can sometimes be a challenge and it is important that you have an idea of the different olfactory families. At the same time, having knowledge about the different notes of perfume can be helpful. Before you buy a perfume, take the following into consideration:

  • Expression: When you are choosing a perfume, keep in mind that the perfume that you will be purchasing is a way to express yourself. Take note that blondes are more inclined to pick fruity scents while brunettes are particular about dark. Are you looking for something strong? A smell which is similar to fresh herbs?
  • Do Not Go With The Trend: you do not necessarily have to go along with the current trends. Remember, different people have different skins and sensitivity towards various chemicals and what may safe for another person may not necessarily be safe with you and vice versa. Also keep in mind that women undergo physical and hormonal changes which may affect their personal preferences when it comes to scents.
  • Take Your Time: A lot of people tend to rush when it comes to choosing their perfumes but the trick is that you have to take your time in choosing the ones that really appeal to you. And do not just smell them; try them as well as you know if it has any negative reactions on your skin. And do not just depend on test strips since a perfume smells different when you are using it on yourself.

Remember that a perfume is one way of expressing yourself so make sure that you choose the right perfume for you.

Whenever I shop for perfume, I see to it that it will match my body’s chemistry so that it will end up smelling good, which is why I stay away from the trends – I just stick to the scent that I smell good in 🙂

Correct. We don’t shop just to please others. We have to personally love it.

You know what I do to prevent buying perfume that I’ll regret later? I just stick to the brands that smell good on me. The downside is: I don’t really get to try other perfume brands anymore, unless of course, someone gives me a new perfume brand as a gift.
